Council on Aging’s (COA) Health and Wellness department was recently nominated for a Partner Award by WeTHRIVE. The nomination is a reflection of the helpful work COA’s Health and Wellness programs do throughout our community.

Brittaney Burton, COA’s Community and Business Operations Specialist and coordinator of Health and Wellness programs, was honored with a medal at the celebration of WeTHRIVE’s 15th anniversary held in December at the Mayerson Jewish Community Center.
The WeTHRIVE initiative brings public health together with communities, schools and childcare providers with the goal of making changes related to health, safety and well-being. Thanks to a recent grant from the Hamilton County Health Department (connected with WeTHRIVE), we were able to provide transportation to and from some of our Health and Wellness workshops.
“By being able to provide transportation to our workshops,” says Judy Eschmann, COA’s Vice President – Community & Business Operations, “our programs are that much more accessible to the older adults who can benefit from them. The tips and tricks participants learn in these workshops help them better manage their own health which can be key to living a full life.”
COA Health and Wellness workshops focus on a variety of health needs, including managing arthritis, living with diabetes and preventing falls. They are offered at no cost to the participant and are held throughout COA’s five-county service area.
