Absentee voting
In Ohio, any registered voter can use an absentee ballot to vote.
How do I get an absentee ballot?
You have two options:
- Fill out an absentee ballot application online and download the PDF and print from your printer, or
- Call your board of elections and request an application
How do I return my ballot?
- You can return your ballot by mail or by dropping it off at your county board of elections office.
- If you choose to return your ballot by mail, the United States Postal Service recommends that voters mail their completed ballots at least one week before the due date.
- Read the instructions carefully on how to mark and return your ballot.
Absentee ballot deadlines
- Request ballot (received by): Oct. 29 close of business
- Return ballot by mail (postmarked by): Nov 4
- Return ballot in person: Nov. 5 by 7:30 p.m.

Early voting for the state of Ohio begins on Oct. 8. Following are statewide early voting days and hours:
