Today the governor of Ohio declared a state of emergency following the positive identification of three coronavirus cases in Ohio.
After consulting with local health officials and after considering all possible scenarios, we have decided to cancel Forum on Aging and Council on Aging’s Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony.
Obviously this was not a decision we wanted to make at this late date, but the situation with coronavirus is changing daily – if not hourly.
As we considered the decision, it came down to Forum on Aging’s audience and the people our attendees and sponsors serve in their professional lives. Now that the disease is confirmed in Ohio, Council on Aging felt the need to do everything possible to protect the vulnerable population that we all serve.
This is the first time in Forum’s 34-year history that the event has been cancelled. As such, there are many details to be worked out. All attendees and sponsors will receive additional communication from Council on Aging regarding registrations and sponsorships.
Thank you for understanding and your support of Forum on Aging.
