Council on Aging is pleased to welcome Deanna M. Webster, Ph.D., LSW as manager of COA’s MyCare Ohio-Molina team. At COA, Deanna will lead a team of care managers and support staff who are working to preserve dignity, independence and quality of life for older adults enrolled in Molina Healthcare’s MyCare Ohio plan.
Deanna is a licensed social worker and earned a Ph.D. in educational leadership from Miami University, Oxford. She is passionate about education, psychology and quality of life issues for older adults, and has used those passions to educate students about societal views on aging and their impact on older adults.
Deanna has more than 20 years combined clinical and academic experience and most recently served as a visiting assistant professor at Miami University where she taught undergraduate courses related to psychology, including aging. She has also taught at Ivy Tech Community College, the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.
Deanna’s social work experience includes long-term care coordination, behavioral health, crisis management, clinical supervision and training, and grant writing. Her previous employment includes Aetna Better Health of Ohio, Butler Behavioral Health Services, Beechacres Parenting Center and Women Helping Women.
“Deanna’s experience – particularly her understanding of compliance requirements in the state’s MyCare Ohio program – will only enhance our team’s ability provide the highest level of care for our clients while also achieving our contract compliance goals,” said Kim Clark, COA’s Vice President of Program Operations-Medicaid.
MyCare Ohio is a managed care program for Ohioans who receive both Medicare and Medicaid benefits. The program is administered by the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM). Council on Aging has a contract with Molina, as well as Aetna Better Health of Ohio, to assess people’s level-of-care for waiver programs (PASSPORT, Assisted Living or Ohio Home Care) and to manage or coordinate their long-term care services.
