New position added to Senior Leadership Team

Effective in January, Council on Aging (COA) will have a new member of its Senior Leadership Team, who will fill a newly created role.
Mark Reed will join COA as its first Vice President of Compliance, Legal Affairs & Privacy Officer. As COA and other Area Agencies on Aging have found through programs such as MyCare Ohio and other Medicaid waiver programs, the contracting process, and associated requirements, has become increasingly complex. This position will help ensure COA achieves the highest standards when it comes to compliance and quality measures
Reed is an attorney who also possesses a significant amount of administrative experience, including serving as Clerk of the Court for the Court of Claims of Ohio and Court Administrator for Hamilton County Juvenile Court. Reed has also worked as a magistrate in Hamilton County.
“I am very excited about beginning this next chapter in my career with Council on Aging. The prospect of becoming part of a team that is so committed to quality while doing such important work is incredibly attractive to me,” Reed said.
Clark promoted to Senior Leadership Team

In July, COA promoted long-time employee Kim Clark to Vice President – Operations for Medicaid Services.
In this position, Clark oversees all of the Medicaid Programs administered by COA, which include Ohio Home Care Waiver, Specialized Recovery Services Program, MyCare Ohio, PASSPORT and Pre-Admission Review.
Clark has been with COA for more than 20 years, serving in a variety of roles, most recently as manager of the Elderly Services Program Department. She was instrumental in the startup and success of COA’s Assisted Living Waiver and Care Transitions programs, which resulted in multiple awards, as well as national recognition.
“I’m thrilled to be in a position to work with COA’s amazing and dedicated Medicaid program staff members, and to provide guidance as we continue to strive for the highest level possible of customer service and compliance,” Clark said.
