Eric Young, COA Communications Specialist |
Eric Young, communications specialist at Council on Aging, is the recipient of Mount St. Joseph University’s Future Five Award. The Future Five Award acknowledges alumni who have graduated within the past 20 years and have made significant contributions to their communities and excelled in their careers. The award will be presented at the Presidential Alumni Symposium, April 27 at the University, and all honorees will be recognized the following evening at the Mount Jubilee and Inauguration Gala at the Renaissance Hotel.
Since joining Council on Aging in 2014, Eric has worked to strengthen COA and foster its mission through internal communications, leading the development of the organization’s intranet and internal newsletter, the primary vehicles through which COA staff members and board and advisory council members receive organizational news and information.
Prior to joining COA, Eric led and coordinated public relations and internal communications efforts at local non-profit organizations, including The Society of St. Vincent De Paul – Cincinnati and the Catholic Inner-City Schools Education Fund. Eric also served as Corporate Communications Manager at Firstgroup America where he handled internal communications for employees across North America.
A resident of Reading, Eric is the 2013 recipient of Mount St. Joseph University’s Sister Peg McPeak Arts and Humanities Alumni Award, an award that recognizes a graduate who has been successful in their career while also exemplifying the University’s mission.
Eric received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Mount St. Joseph University in 1997.
