Council on Aging recently announced changes to the organization’s senior leadership team.
Danielle “Daney” Amrine has been promoted to Vice President – Operations for Medicaid Services. Daney previously served as COA’s Transitional Care Business Manager.
Susanna Max joins COA as Vice President of Communications, replacing Laurie Petrie who retired Jan. 6. Susanna previously served as Director of Public Relations for Wyoming City Schools.

Danielle Amrine, of Batavia, has been promoted to Vice President of Program Operations at Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio. She will oversee Medicaid-funded programs that help thousands of people in our region remain independent in their homes.
Amrine has served in a variety of roles since joining Council on Aging in 2007, including PASSPORT care manager and Care Transitions coach. She also served as COA’s Transitional Care Business Manager, leading nationally-recognized programs that help people complete smooth transitions from one care setting to another, while reducing unnecessary hospital admissions and nursing home placements.
Amrine is a Licensed Social Worker and holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Kentucky. She has an interest in and has received training in psychology and mental health services.
She used those skills working with victims of domestic violence as a Women’s Advocate for the YWCA House of Peace Domestic Violence Shelter in Cincinnati.
She also coordinated case management and counseling services for military personnel and their families as a supervisor for the Cincinnati chapter of the American Red Cross.

Susanna Max, of Wyoming, joins COA as the new Vice President of Communications. She will oversee a team of strategic communicators that help to promote COA programs through a variety of mediums, from print publications to advertising to events.
Prior to joining COA, Susanna served as the Director of Public Relations for Wyoming City Schools, where she was a member of the leadership team and guided all communications efforts for the district, including media relations, special event planning, publications, website content, and prospective family engagements. She served on the Ohio School Public Relations Association (OHSPRA) Board of Trustees and the Buckeye Association of School Administrators (BASA) Communications Committee. In 2015, she won two state awards for her work to produce a district profile video and an updated website.
Susanna is a graduate of Centre College of Kentucky and holds a bachelor’s degree in English. She is passionate about telling great stories and looks forward to spreading COA’s message.
